They shouldn't be here anymore. They had a place of honor in full sight of everyone who entered that space weeks ago, but this has got to stop, even though I love the vivid colors they are splashed in and the way they curl and twist in place. The colors are only basic ones - red, yellow, orange, green, and blue - messily applied to twenty rectangles by a careless childish hand, but they brighten my face whenever I come in and see them hanging there, defying anyone to remove them.
This morning I joked about how if I made regular minor alterations this object could stay up forever, but that's probably not a good idea. Soon a close cousin will be installed in the same location and take it's turn standing out vibrantly against the light coming from behind it.
I wonder how I will craft their replacement? I know Pinterest+imagination+whatever-I-have-lying-around-the-house have SOMETHING for me, but what? Time to trawl the shiny waters of the internet (again. Still.).
